Understand the boundary first
A diagram can reveal differences in how teams understand a process, but it can also repeat unresolved ambiguity. Identify the event that starts the work and the outcome that ends it. Registering a request is not necessarily the same as resolving it.
Modelling and execution are different decisions
BPMN is a standard for business process modelling; the official OMG specification is the primary reference. A diagram does not by itself define forms, data, permissions, decision rules or exception behavior.
That distinction matters when moving from a model to enterprise software. Review incomplete information, corrections, cancellation, unavailable owners and restarting work.
Follow a real case
Trace an actual request with the people responsible for each stage. Record inputs, outputs and ownership, then review dependencies on other applications and the need for system integration.
The FADIN BPMS project explores process modelling, organizational structure and operational visibility. It is in development; available scope needs to be reviewed separately.
